What you need to know about CrowdFunding

Being an artist doesn't mean you have to be a starving one.

We all know the stigma regarding starving artists and the struggle to find financial backing. That's where Artsy.us comes in! Artsy.us is a crowdfunding site geared toward the artistic genre. So if you're an artist, painter, sculptor, or have any artistic talent (including musical talent and writing) join us on Artsy.us to fund your projects!.

Donation CrowdFunding

It's easy to use Artsy.us and Free! Just follow these easy steps and you'll be on your way to raising money for your art show, exhibition, gallery, entry fees, writing projects, music recordings and more! First things first - just create a new project giving the details of what you're looking to raise and the reason you're looking for financial backers. Then set the target amount you'd need to raise and the number of days you'd need the funds by and you're ready to receive donations. It's that easy!

When your project page is published, you will be able to see how much progress you've made to reach your goal. All donations are sent to your account immediately via PayPal and ARE NOT REFUNDED IF THE PROJECT FAILS TO MEET ITS MONETARY GOAL.

The Givers

Anyone can contribute to give you money and reach your goal. You can share Artsy.us with friends and other people, they will visit your page and can easily back your project.

While you are raising money, your Artsy.us project page will show the raised sum and the remaining time to receive money.

Once the project deadline has ended, you cannot collect more money. The page remains online, but the Send Money button is disabled. For this reason, people should send money as soon as possible, within the goal timeline. If the project goal is not reached, no funds are refunded. Instead, the person who posted the project keeps all donated funds that were given to back that project.

Money Transactions

People can send money through PayPal, which allows secure payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet. For this reason, to receive money you should have a Paypal account. A Giver doesn't need to have PayPal to give money: they just need a credit card or other valid types of PayPal payment.

Every time there is a new money donation, it is sent directly to the project page's creator, not Artsy.us (we don't handle any of the money). It just makes things simpler and there is no fee to you.

Every contribution is CrowdFunding, and usually there is no return for the contributor. Of course, the Poster can decide to give contributors a benefit or reward (in this case it would be stated on the CrowdFunding Page, for example a copy of one of the artist's prints or a signed painting, etc). Remember, Posters are wholly responsible for their promises, and Artsy.us has no control if they keep their word or not. Send money only to Posters you know or you trust.

At anytime, you can contact the creator of the project by clicking the Send a Message button on their CrowdFunding Page.
